Meet our Founder and Director
Michelle Campbell is the founder of A Nurtured Mind. Michelle moved to San Diego from a small town in New Hampshire in 2011. With a Masters in Education, she worked at a few elementary schools and taught in general ed classes. As fate would have it, she ended up at a learning center where she was first introduced to the educational therapy field. She became the assistant director and was able to gain insight into the educational therapy world.
Her entrepreneurial spirit led her to starting her own business, A Nurtured Mind, in 2014 after receiving a certification in Educational Therapy from UCR. Michelle started A Nurtured Mind as a way to support children and families who are facing learning difficulties and challenges. Her passion lies not only in helping students find success at school, but ultimately in helping them to build self confidence and develop a love for learning. Now, after many years of working independently, A Nurtured Mind is comprised of a small team of highly qualified educators with a passion of supporting students all across San Diego.
In addition to educational therapy, Michelle and her team also help to prepare students for the Independence School Entrance Exam (ISEE). Having previous experience at a private school in San Diego, Michelle is familiar with what skills are needed to transition to an Independent school. She has created her own preparation program to help students succeed on the exam.
When Michelle is not working, she loves spending time outside with her husband, two sons and dog.
